This bit is used for cutting shallow mortises for hinges and locksets. Its cuttinggeometry is calculated to produce an exceptionally clean cut with crisp edges. Aproper mortising bit, as pictured, should have a large gullet between the two flutes.

Carbide tipped cutting edges feature outstanding cutting tool longevity and performance.Pro-Tech router bits cut through a variety of materials from wood, plywood, MDFand other wood composites, plastics, and solid surfaces.

Hinge mortise profileUsea two-flute bit where fine finish is paramount. Two flutes balance the bit, eliminatingvibration that degrades the cut finish.

Two cuts per revolution yield a smooth surface, but feed rate is slightly reduced.

This router bit has a6.35mm shank (shaft) that will fit most small routers. Pleaseensure that you select a router bit with a shank (shaft) size that will fitinto your router collet.
