Ø15mm Diamond core bit

Application:

The diamond core bit is used to drill holes in:

  • Ceramic tiles
  • Marble
  • Grade 5 porcelain (hardest)
  • Granite
  • Glass
  • Slate

The diamond core cuts faster, smoother and lasts longer than any other coredrills.

How to use the diamond core bit:

The diamond core drill bit must be used with water at all times whendrilling. The water serves as a coolant to prevent the diamonds fromoverheating. The maximum allowable temperature for a diamond core bit is 500°C.

There is no pilot drill with the diamond core bit. A low rpm rotary drillwith a planetary gearbox is required to be used with a diamond core bit. It ispossible to use a cordless drill, but in the lowest gear setting. No hammeraction is used.

  1. Tightly fasten the diamond core bit in the drill's chuck.
  2. Keep the bit steady at a 45° anglewith the starting point on the edge of the assigned area to bedrilled whilst the bit is rotating.
  3. A notch will be made (this is normal).Gradually move the drill from 45° to 90° and continue drilling untilfinished.
  4. Allow the diamond core bit to cool down completely before proceeding todrill another hole.

Water can be applied by:

  • spraying water on the surface,
  • using a wet sponge,
  • attaching a water feed device. This is necessary when drilling into awall tile.

Please have a look at the video in the tabs aboveshowing how to use the diamond core bit.

An indication of the correct spindle speed:

ø5.0mm800 rpm
ø6.0mm600 rpm
ø7.0mm500 rpm
ø8.0mm500 rpm
Ø10.0mm400 rpm
More than Ø10.0mm (>10.0mm)less than 400 rpm

IMPORTANT:
The tool life will mostly depend on the proper usage and the hardness of the itemsdrilled into. It is normal for a diamond core bit to last up to 10 or moredrilled holes in hard tiles. Please remember to always usewater when drilling with diamond core bits.
